Help NYC DEP Police Officer William “Willy” Piemonte Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
On the morning of Saturday, October 17, 2026, NYC Department of Environmental Protection Police Officer William “Willy” Piemonte experienced a devastating and life-altering event when a substantial fire tore through his home, leaving him facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding and starting over.
For more than 17 years, Willy has dedicated himself to serving the City of New York through his work with the NYC DEP Police. Throughout his career, he has been part of a profession built on service, commitment, and looking out for others. Now, during a time of tremendous uncertainty and hardship, it is our turn to come together and support one of our own.
A house fire is something no one ever expects to experience. In a matter of moments, the place we call home can be changed forever. Beyond the physical damage, a tragedy like this can mean the loss of personal belongings, cherished possessions, everyday necessities, and the comfort and security that come with having a place to call home. Willy is now faced with the difficult process of navigating the aftermath of this fire, replacing what was lost, and beginning the long road toward rebuilding.
While the damage and loss are significant, we are incredibly grateful that no lives were lost in this tragedy. That is something we can never take for granted. Still, the road ahead will be challenging, and the financial and emotional burdens of starting over can be substantial.
That is why we are asking for your help.
We are humbly reaching out to our fellow officers, friends, family members, colleagues, and anyone who may be in a position to contribute. Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help Willy take those first important steps toward rebuilding his life and restoring some sense of stability during this difficult time. Contributions will help ease the immediate burden of replacing essential belongings, addressing unexpected expenses, and managing the many challenges that come with recovering from a devastating house fire.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would also mean a great deal. Every act of kindness, every contribution, and every show of support will remind Willy that he is not facing this challenge alone.
In law enforcement, we often speak about the importance of brotherhood, sisterhood, and standing together when one of our own needs help. Those values mean the most when they are put into action. No one should have to face a hardship of this magnitude without knowing that a community of people is willing to stand beside them.
The road to recovery will not be short, and rebuilding will take time. There will be challenges along the way, but we believe in the strength of our community and the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause. We may not be able to undo what happened that morning, but we can help make the next steps a little easier.
One step at a time, one day at a time, we will help Willy rebuild.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donates, shares this fundraiser, or offers words of encouragement and support. Your generosity will mean more than words can express, and every bit of assistance will help make a meaningful difference as Willy begins this next chapter.
Let's show Officer William “Willy” Piemonte that after more than 17 years of serving others, he has a community ready to stand behind him when he needs it most.
The NYC DEP Police Union - Environmental Police Benevolent Association (E.P.B.A.) will transfer and secure these funds to William Piemonte to help with expenses during this challenging time. Please continue to share our fundraiser and help us reach our goal. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Together, we can help Willy take the first steps toward rebuilding.
