Update:

On April 16th, we received genetic testing results of Dan's tumor. We won't get into the weeds of the specific prognostics of glioblastoma gene markers, but the results indicate a more treatment resistant tumor type. However, as well researched as this disease is, a common thread among available data is that no one tumor is the same and no one patient responds the same. Dan is doing well, continues to ride his bike, cook healthy meals, and is enjoying time with family and friends. Dan is enrolled in a clinical trial here in Tucson, AZ and started a 6-week run of chemo and radiation therapy on this last Tuesday, April 23rd. Come June he'll get a treatment break and his Doctors told him to get out town, take a vacation and relax. Feel free to send suggestions for places to go!

Hello Family, Friends, and Well Wishers,

Dan is a Neuro ICU nurse from Tucson, AZ. He loves his profession and loves taking care of others. He is an amazing son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend! He runs marathons, loves to laugh, and is a dedicated medical professional.

On Monday March 18th, Dan went from medical professional to patient when a trip to the ER for a persistent headache and left-side numbness revealed a brain tumor.

On Monday, March 25th, he had surgery to remove the 2.2 cm mass from his right temporal lobe. Dan is doing amazingly well post surgery and was even cracking jokes with the ICU nurses. But his journey is just beginning. Pathology confirmed the diagnosis of glioblastoma multiforme. His greatest wish is to get back to work, back to a productive life, and back to running, climbing and spending time with friends and loved ones. But he will need time for treatment and recovery.

We want to ease his mind by covering some of his medical and household bills as he starts treatment. Any donation is much appreciated.
