Help Nurse Young Walk Again.
Emergency Surgery Needed
My name is Sandra Watkis, and I am reaching out with urgency and hope on behalf of our dear family member, Nurse Arlene Planter-Young, who has served faithfully at Imara Medical, caring for patients with compassion and dedication. Today, she needs our help.
In 2021, after a fall, Nurse Young was diagnosed with a severe neurological condition called Cauda Equina Syndrome. This condition compresses the nerves at the base of the spine, leading to severe pain, numbness, and weakness. Over the past three years, she has bravely battled the challenges — but now, the situation is critical. Without urgent surgery, she risks permanent loss of mobility, loss of sensation in her legs, and a life of disability.
Despite her resilience, the financial burden of this surgery is overwhelming. We are raising USD $45,800 to cover:
• Neurosurgery Fees: $19,000 USD
• Surgical Hardware (screws, rods, nerve monitoring equipment): $16,000 USD
• Hospital Stay: $1,300 USD
• Post-Operative Care & Rehabilitation (in-home nursing care, physiotherapy, MRIs, lab tests, and nerve monitoring): $9,500 USD
Nurse Young has dedicated her life to nursing — comforting, healing, and serving others. Now, we have the chance to give back and help her reclaim her independence, mobility, and quality of life.
Every contribution matters. Whether you can give USD $5, $10, $15, $20, $30, $40, $50, or more, your donation brings Nurse Young one step closer to walking again. If you can't give financially, please share this campaign widely so others may help.
She has carried this burden since 2021. Let's not allow her to carry it alone any longer.
Please help us restore her health, mobility, and hope.
Donate today and share widely.
Thank you for standing with Nurse Young.
