Help nurse a nurse….

Hi. My name is Anne Marie. For over 40 years, I had the privilege of nursing many patients through the darkest challenges of their lives.

Last year. I wa diagnosed with metastatic neuroendocrine tumours. It’s a very very rare cancer and it forced me to face my own mortality and to take time out from the job that I love and cherish.

I live 4-5 hours from the centre that treat this disease and it’s proving an emotional and financial drain on me.

My primary tumour cannot be located but it is still very active.

I was blindsided by my diagnosis and have no ideas how long more I can deal with the financial burden this has placed on me. I don’t need much and have never been a person who easily asked for help. But I need help….I’m asking for help.

I live alone and late year, was forced to retire on the grounds of ill health.

Any funds raised will help with the 9 odd hours round trips to Dublin and likely for medical expenses.

I now need to travel to Sweden which is the European Centre of excellence for my cancer. I’m praying that this trip will locate my primary tumour and give me a fighting chance to survive and beat this invisible tumour.

I am aware that you are all strapped for cash. The cost of living impacts many families. Small amounts would help me with the transport costs and medical expenses. I don’t know how long I’ll be around, but I would be eternally thankful for any help you can give me.
