Hay to drought affected farmer
Donation protected
We are raising money to send approximately 50 large round bales of hay to the NSW farmer in Hermidale who is doing it tough through this horrible drought.
When I visit my friend Rhett (who's wife is expecting a new child in a few weeks) up there last week I was astonished how dry it was on his property and how tough things were getting. Like so many other family currently trying to manage during this horrible drought, they have been doing everything they can to make ends meet.
Hermidale hasn’t been lucky enough to catch the attention of the morning breakfast shows or Politicians looking for a good photo opportunity and things are looking grim.
On the long drive home I decided to do what I can to try and help them out. I have organised a local farmer in Victoria to provide 50 large round bales of hay at a discounted price and reduced freight cost to get them upto NSW. We have been able to negotiate a rate of $8000 for the supply and delivery of the 50 bales of hay.
This truck load of hay will keep the farm going for about two months and will hopefully get them through until some rain comes .
