We are Nowhere's Store of Forgotten Lore, a comics and games shop located in Springfield, MO. Providing a safe, relaxed third space for our community has always been our focus. We believe passionately that fun, nerdy things like comics, RPGs, board games, and card games bring people together and help them find connection in a time where it's so easy to feel isolated and lost.

Unfortunately, due to many factors out of our control including health concerns and power outages earlier in the year, we are currently facing difficulties in making ends meet. While we've done well for the past couple of years, this year, we've experienced a decline, and as a fairly new store, we have no cushion and no bank loans to fall back on.

We know our store has become a home away from home for our regulars, and we've put every ounce of ourselves into keeping things going. It isn't easy asking for help like this. But we love Nowhere's Store and everyone who has supported us, and if we can keep the doors open by turning to our community in this hour of need, then it's the right move. Our Needs & Our Work

Our immediate goals are to cover rent and payroll, followed immediately by restocking, fulfilling special orders, and other bills.

Our initial GFM Goal was set early on to accept donations for our renovations. In order to accurately reflect our current needs, that amount has been lowered.

Since opening in April 2023, we've hosted charity tournaments with Tremendicon; provided space for local groups like K-Pop Springfield, Greater Springfield Area BattleTech, and Ark of the Ozarks; expanded our products and weekly schedule; participated with other stores to raise funds for Extra Life; and fostered growth in our gaming community. We offer libraries of board games and gaming terrain for anyone to use in the shop free of charge. We've expanded our local creator display, providing more opportunities for the people living right here in your backyard to get their works out there. We love allowing groups to come in and host major events like Smash Bros tournaments and dance group practices.

As many of you know, we don't charge for most of our services, because we understand what it's like to not have two nickels to rub together, resulting in feeling shut out from going out and participating in community events.

About Us

Our current staff has sixty combined years of industry experience. We have a policy of hiring experts and listening to them. Over the years, we've seen the birth and subsequent loss of many shops like ours, and losing a home store leaves a hole in the community. We understand that these hobbies are more than just entertainment — They are connections to other people. They open pathways of communication and bonding. This especially includes local creators — We want to connect people to all the amazing artists, authors, and crafters right in their own backyards.
