When asked what she wanted her funeral to be like, Nova said, "Whatever you do, please do not spend money on funerals and caskets, just turn me into ashes and scatter me among the giant redwood trees. Or I will haunt you!" (Anybody who knew Nova, knows that her humor was always unexpected and hilarious) She was always dreaming of going to Oregon and seeing the redwood forest and if she couldn't make it that she'd want her family to bring her ashes there.
Nova was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Triple Negative metastatic cancer in April of 2021, the medical costs depleted her money. The combination of the insurance company not approving treatments and unexpected emergency room visits delayed her treatments even more, making the cancer progress even further. Sadly she passed away on September 20th 2022, at the age of 38.
She was about to relocate with her job to Oregon until the cancer pain forced her to leave her work. She really loved working with her boss Gilbert and his family, and her co-workers at the Dental Lab. She shared how much it depressed her that she could not work with them again and that she couldn't make it to Oregon. She really did adore them.
As her twin and caretaker I have witnessed too many of her dreams and goals destroyed by the cancer, and I will do what it takes to make this one last dream come true.
In order to make it happen, we need help financing Nova’s last wish. She wants her family to take her ashes to the redwood forest in Oregon, along with the ashes of her beloved kitty Boo that had passed away a few years before.
If we can make this one wish come true, it will give our family and those who love her, much peace knowing at least this one goal of her’s did not get destroyed by the circumstances of cancer.
Much love to you all.
Rest in love, light, and peace, my sweet beloved sister.
