Help Nova keep his leg

I was woken up, 7am, by a knock at the door. It was the city Animal Control who had been called because my best friend Nova had managed to get out of the fence and had been hit by a car. My stomach dropped and I couldn't believe it until I saw him. I scooped him up and raced him to the animal ER fearing the worst.
Luckily, the Doctors determined he was stable and his lungs are ok but he has broken his back left femur just below the ball joint. This particular ER was not equipped to handle such a break and recommended a few Orthopedic Surgeons, gave Nova something to help the pain, and sent me on my way, charging $500.
I spent hours calling surgeons in the area trying to find who could help my dear sweet Nova until I finally found an office that could help. I took him there and that is where he is currently under observation, care and pain management in prep for surgery. They gave me some options. The leg could be amputated for much less or they can perform the bone surgery for $6000 plus $1000 for keeping him in observation beforehand.
I know everyone is struggling right now so I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I simply do not have access to that kind of money with such short notice. I cannot look this sweet dog in the face, who got me through a divorce, helped me through depression and tell him he has to lose his leg because I can't afford it.
Nova is a healthy active 6 yr old Tamaskan (uncommon breed). He was lost and unclaimed and fell into my lap about 5 yrs ago. We've been inseparable since.
All funds will be used exclusively for Nova's surgery. If the bill comes in less or there happens to be any surplus, it will be donated to Texas Husky Rescue who save the lives of Huskies every day, including my other dog, a female siberian husky named Zayda.
This is an urgent need and I cannot express my gratitude for anyone willing to help with any amount. Thank you.
