Hi everyone,
We’re raising funds for our beloved dog Nova—a cherished member of our family.
Nova will be turning 10 years old on June 26, and he has been with us since he was just two weeks old. From the very beginning, my family and I have raised him together. He didn’t just grow up in our home—he grew up in our hearts. Nova has been there for birthdays, holidays, hard days, and everything in between. He isn’t “just a dog” to us—he’s family.
A few months ago, we noticed a lump forming on Nova’s shoulder that began growing rapidly. What started small has now grown into a large, football-sized mass on the dorsal part of his shoulder. After veterinary testing, we received heartbreaking news.
The cytology results indicate a spindle cell tumor, most compatible with a soft tissue sarcoma.
Soft tissue sarcomas are a type of cancer that develop in connective tissue. While they rarely spread to other organs, they are often locally aggressive, meaning they invade surrounding tissue and are difficult to remove completely. These tumors also carry a high risk of recurrence if not treated properly. Nova’s mass is firmly attached beneath the skin, making treatment more complex.
We are currently waiting on a referral to see a specialist, who will help determine the best course of action. Nova will likely need:
• Advanced imaging (CT or MRI scans) to determine the extent of the tumor
• Surgical removal with wide margins to reduce the risk of recurrence
• Radiation therapy if clean margins cannot be achieved
• Additional treatments, medications, and follow-up care to support his recovery and comfort
These treatments are costly and time-sensitive, but they offer Nova a real chance—not just to extend his life, but to preserve his quality of life.
All funds raised will go directly toward:
• Diagnostic imaging
• Specialist consultations
• Surgery
• Radiation therapy
• Post-operative care, medications, and recovery needs
Any contribution—no matter the amount—will make a difference and is deeply appreciated. Every donation helps us move one step closer to getting Nova the care he needs, and we are incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity of everyone who chooses to support us.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much to our family. Thank you for taking the time to read Nova’s story, for your compassion, and for standing with us during this difficult time.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for helping us fight for Nova.
