Hello Everyone! I'm Nova Everson, founder of Happy Feet Skateboard and Pedestrian Clubs. We need your help to keep up the two private skateparks that we manage in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This park was closed and abandoned for 8 years, until 2021 when we raised the money to re-open it to the public. The park is property of the local high school, who unfortunately does not have the funds nor any interest in managing it. So, Happy Feet has done a great effort to keep the skatepark going over the past 4 years, and with a little help from you, we can do an even better job!
You can become an official sponsor of the skatepark for just $300 per year! As an official sponsor, you will receive a space on the wall to put your company's logo or artwork. We'll also give your company monthly shout outs on social media!
We will use the money for the following purposes:
We have about 30 kids who skate with us every week who come from low income families. Many of them don’t have a skateboard, and some have really bad skateboards. We have a goal to raise $1,000 to get these kids their own skateboards that are decent quality ones (not the toy skateboards they sell at Walmart). We already have a lot of decks and trucks in good condition and we are putting them together, but missing a lot more.
None of these kids have their own protective gear. We want to raise another $1,000 to get all of them their own helmets and set of pads.
The skatepark in Villarreal needs a lot of improvements:
Lastre for parking. $800
Cleaning and cut all the brush $300
Repair three lights for night skating. $500
Repair the bathroom door. $100
Pressure wash and paint the park $400
Paint bathrooms, and paint parts of the park to give it a fresh look.
Install a light for the outside entrance, because it's super dark and scary.
Install a roof over the street section of the skatepark so that we don't have to cancel the classes when it rains!
Install a new drain on the east section of the park where the rain water accumulates making it unusable.
And more!
Currently, we have about 30 kids per week who participate in our programs, and every time it rains, we sadly have to cancel the class. As soon as we install the roof over the street section (a long narrow section with some stairs), we can continue the classes even when it rains, and we'll never need to cancel the class again!
Besides our classes, there are many more skaters, roller skaters, and BMXers who use the park each month. We have many goals for the future, and we need your help to continue using the park in a positive and fun way, always improving and keeping the stoke alive!
THANK YOU!
