Help Nova Continue Her Fight Against Cancer

Friends and Family,
Many of you know my sister, Nova, and are aware of her fierce battle with triple negative breast cancer. This horrible disease has taken its toll on her and her family for nearly 4 years. Many of you have been generous in the past and now I’m reaching out again on her behalf and asking for donations to help her continue her fight! I asked Nova if she would share her story. Many of you know about her continued fight and ask about her often. Any assistance is greatly appreciated and every bit help. Also, thoughts and prayers are always greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Friends!

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer) initially in July 2022. I underwent chemotherapy (5 different types), immunotherapy, radiation, and surgery from July 2022 - August 2023. I was fortunate enough to go out on FMLA as well as STD/LTD during this time and maintain benefits and income.

In August 2023, during my every 3-month CT scan, tiny nodules appeared in my lungs. However, they were too small to biopsy to determine what they were. We could only monitor them through CT scans every 90 days.

In January 2024, I returned to full-time employment and we continued to monitor the lung nodules. Due to the continued growth of the nodules, in August 2024, I was able to have a biopsy of the largest of the 8-10 nodules that had developed and continued to grow in both of my lungs.

This biopsy confirmed that the TNBC had metastasized to my lungs. I was officially diagnosed with mTNBC Stage 4 (which is considered terminal). The prognosis was 18-24 months.

However, if you know me, I was determined to beat that statistic!

Since August 2024, I have undergone many different types of treatments. Specifically, 5 different types of chemotherapy, 2 additional biopsies, at least 12 CT scans, a PET scan, a second opinion at MD Anderson (which stated that my current treatment plan was on target), and a lot of medications for side effects of the chemo. Each treatment seems to work for roughly 4-5 months. Then the nodules begin to grow and more surface. Additionally, there is concern that the lymph nodes in my chest are also impacted.

I went on disability and Medicare as of October 2025. As you know, Kevin is self-employed and is also my full-time caregiver. The loss of my income and medical costs (both premiums and expenses) over the last 3 and 1/2 years are overwhelming.

This money will be used for medical costs (I have no RX coverage and Medicare covers 20% of all eligible medical costs) as well as daily living expenses.

This by far is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Thinking about the burden of finances while making decisions that could possibly save your life is something no one should ever have to face!

We are somewhat private people who have always kept our finances private and are better at giving than receiving.

To those who continue to lift us in prayer - Thank you! I tell people I truly feel your prayers. Please keep those prayers coming.

I have several pivotal doctor's appointments coming up where I will be able to share next steps in my treatment options.

Thank you just doesn’t seem enough !

Love Always!
Nova
