Nova is a beautiful rescued thoroughbred who has already overcome so much. Her early life was spent on the racetrack, and after her racing career she fell on even harder times with an owner who starved her. At just 5 years old, Nova came into our care through Animal Control severely underweight and in need of safety and love.

Over the last few years at Gold Creek, Nova has thrived. Now 8 years old, Nova has gained weight, gotten stronger, and shown incredible resilience, trainability, and companionship. She’s become a barn favorite – gentle, affectionate, and full of potential.

Nova was recently diagnosed with a serious back condition that requires surgery to relieve her pain and give her a chance at a comfortable, healthy future. This specialized surgery, along with post-operative care, is costly and beyond what we can cover on our own.
