About Our Family: Hi! My name is Noor, and I am 33 years old. I have a wonderful family, consisting of my husband Bahaa (who is 37 years old) and 4 children: Ahmed (who is 10 years old), Zeina (who is 9 years old), Aseel (who is 6 years old), and Jinan (who is a one year old). We are from Gaza, a once beautiful place now filled with famine, suffering, and death. We ask you, dear friends, and all people of conscience to help us, support us, stand by our side, and donate to us - even a small donation makes a huge difference! We hope to evacuate from Gaza, a land of death and hardship, to safety in Egypt.

Our Story: My life was sweet before 7 October: I had a beautiful house where I spent the best of times and nurtured beautiful memories filled with love. Without warning, our home was bombed by warplanes. Thankfully, we are fine, but we lost our house and everything we have ever owned. Our neighbours and friends, martyred. We have lost hope - where can we go from here?

After our home was destroyed, my family and I fled to the only relatively secure place around me, my parents’ home, where we stayed for a short period time. Sadly, their home, located in the Khan Yunis region, was threatened with bombardment – so we were displaced yet again. It seems our lives are spent as transients in search of shelter - first leaving my family home and then leaving my childhood home. I am now in Rafah, where I know no one. My family and I stayed in the street until we were able to find a room, filled with 15 other people.

Now, we live in a nylon tent that is not suitable for animals, let alone human beings! In the tent, it gets very hot during the day and very cold at night. We were suffering from the presence of insects and mosquitoes. With all of the destruction, murder, hunger and fear, we have suffered respiratory and skin diseases. Our tent is simply not suitable for daily living! Food, electricity, and gas are hard to come by. Clean water is a luxury we crave, and there is a lack of vegetables, fruits, and meat in the market – if we find any of these items, the prices are astronomical!

I don’t know what to tell my children when they ask for basic things, like fruits.

The war is still ongoing. With the invasion of Rafah, we have been forced to move again – this time back to the rubble of our family home. There is no water, no electricity, no gas, and internet access is hard to come by. There is nothing that can be salvaged here.

This war took from us all things. There is nothing left for us - no house, no clothing, nothing. There is a glimmer of hope in all of this – you! People like you have the ability to help us get out of this dark place for Egypt.

This GoFundMe campaign will cover those of my family’s evacuation from Gaza to Egypt. The cost of evacuation per adult is $5,000 USD and the cost per child is $2,500 USD, so we will need $20,000 USD / $27, 516 CAD in evacuation funds. Funds raised will also support post-evacuation support, such as housing expenses, medical treatment, youth education, and other basic needs. To cover these post-evacuation costs in Egypt, we will need $10,000 USD / $13, 760 CAD to live on.
