We are medical students from the University of Nottingham raising money for our annual Medics Musical, a long-standing and much-loved tradition that brings the whole medical community together. This year, we’re thrilled to be performing Shrek the Musical, a hilarious, heart-warming story about embracing individuality, finding friendship, and discovering that “beautiful” comes in all shapes and sizes.

Each year, the show becomes harder to produce as university arts funding continues to be cut. The majority of our budget goes straight into essential costs such as theatre hire and the official musical rights. To create a truly magical performance, with vibrant costumes, imaginative staging, props, and set pieces worthy of Shrek’s swamp, we rely heavily on fundraising.
