Hey everyone,

My name is Notavious Andino-Galarza-Perez, and I’m thrilled to share some life-changing news: I’ve been accepted into the prestigious Columbia Summer Research Practicum in Global Behavioral Science (GLOBES) for their Summer 2025 cohort. This program will take place at the University of Cambridge in the UK, where I’ll have the rare opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research alongside world-renowned scholars in psychology and behavioral science.

But I need your help to get there.

Born and raised in Springfield, MA, and as a first-generation, low-income student, the idea of studying at an Ivy League institution or at one of the world’s top universities once felt completely out of reach. And so I did it, gaining acceptance and ultimately attending Columbia university to not only prove it to myself but to others in my community that hadn’t seen what was possible. I’ve worked tirelessly to overcome  systemic barriers, and this practicum represents not just an academic milestone—but a dream realized.

This experience is a critical stepping stone toward my ultimate goal: earning a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and contributing to research that supports mental health equity around the world. The skills, mentorship, and global perspective I’ll gain at Cambridge will shape my future and wil be invaluable for my ability to serve communities like the one I come from.
