Help Northline Elementary Choir Get to Navidad en el Barrio
My name is Maria Lozano, and I have proudly served as the Choir Director at Northline Elementary School, a deeply loved and historically underserved campus in Houston ISD. For more than 25 years, I have had the honour of taking our students to Navidad en el Barrio, one of the largest holiday gift-giveaway programs for low-income children in Texas.
This year, something extraordinary happened:
Our choir was chosen to OPEN the entire program.
Out of all participating schools, Northline Elementary’s choir was invited to perform on stage at NRG Stadium on December 13, 2025. This is not only a tremendous artistic honor, but also a priceless moment for our students to shine, to be celebrated, and to feel the joy and dignity of being seen.
Because our choir is performing, the event organizers generously provided 40 passes, allowing the performers to receive toys, pizza, and a day of holiday magic.
For many of our students—especially our migrant children, who make up a significant portion of our school—this may be the only Christmas celebration they experience this year. Some families are living with profound uncertainty, including fears of possible deportation of loved ones. These children deserve a day of joy, safety, and celebration.
Why We Need Help
Due to an unexpected paperwork issue, our campus was not able to secure a school bus through HISD. I am now responsible for finding safe, reliable transportation so our children can attend.
A charter bus has been located, but payment is due by December 10.
Funds raised here will go directly into my account so I can secure the bus immediately and guarantee every child has a ride.
What Your Gift Makes Possible
Your donation will ensure that:
40 low-income children are able to attend a life-changing holiday event.
Our students can proudly open the show at NRG Stadium.
Families experiencing financial hardship or immigration-related distress can see their children celebrated.
Every child returns home with toys, pizza, memories, and a sense of belonging.
For our community, this event is more than gifts.
It is hope.
It is dignity.
It is a reminder to our students that they matter.
How You Can Help
Any amount, $5, $10, $25, will help us secure the bus and give these children the joyful holiday experience they deserve.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others who might.
Thank You
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us bring joy to our students during a difficult time. Your kindness will be felt not just on December 13, but in the memories these children carry for years.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Maria Lozano
