This August, six members of the North Shores and Henlopen Beach Patrols will compete at the USLA National Lifeguard Championships in Huntington Beach, California, representing Sussex County, Delaware on the country’s largest stage for ocean lifesaving.

Our team has been training extensively throughout the summer, balancing long hours on the beach with focused preparation for events that test speed, endurance, and rescue skills. The competition brings together the best lifeguards from across the United States, highlighting the high standards of fitness and readiness required for professional ocean rescue.

As a small patrol, the costs associated with travel, lodging, and registration are significant. Contributions to this fundraiser will directly offset those expenses, ensuring that our qualified guards can participate without placing the full financial burden on individual team members.
