Help Normans cats before it’s too late.

Hi my name is Veralyn and I’m fundraising to remove, vet and rehome an unknown number of cats from a deceased seniors property.

Norman was a neighbor for many years, a quiet batchelor who kept to himself. He loved the company of his cats and spent all of his pension feeding them. He didn’t have a car and relied on neighbors and family members who lived over an hour away to get him to town or get what he needed. Several years ago people alerted me to him concerned that he was spending his money on his cats and had nothing for himself so I started taking him food and getting some of the cats into rescues. I have removed close to 100 and spayed and returned all that I could catch. I have done all of this out of my own pocket over the years in order for him to not be overwhelmed seeing sick kittens . He was always trying to fix the sick ones but with nothing for supplies he just made them comfortable before they passed. “They’re all little souls that deserve to live” he would tell us every time we seen him. He was tickled seeing updates from their new homes when they were adopted. And he cried every time we took some.

His family came to visit him on August 29 and discovered that he had passed sometime before he was found. It’s been very distressing for them as you can imagine. The buildings are all slated to be demolished in October due to the hazardous state they are in. They’ve lost the only caregiver they know and soon their shelter will be gone too. It’s a 4 hour drive for me to go trap these cats, some have medical issues that need immediate attention, most will need to be vaccinated, spayed and neutered and find homes. We have trapped 9 so far, 2 need to see a vet desperately. We are assuming there’s 30+ cats there but I simply can’t afford to keep trapping until these guys are vetted and adopted out. Please help me get them all out before demolition starts .
