Norma and Riley need our IMMEDIATE help.

As “Room Mom” and “Coach” I have come to know Riley as a kind, appreciative, generous and thoughtful kid who loves to play kickball and soccer with his friends, of which he now has many.

When I found out his Grampa passed, I knew Norma (his Grandma), would need help so I stepped-in to assist in any way I am able. The situation is far more urgent than I had feared, so I am bringing this to the community. Norma would never ask for herself, but I inserted myself into the situation, and got her permission to ask for this kind of help. I am in awe of her strength for Riley, as she picks up the pieces, and tries to move forward, while drowning in the wreckage. Norma is a good person. A hard-working, selfless bright light in this world. It’s no wonder Riley is, how he is. It is because of Norma and Rudy's intervention when Riley was 4 years old, that he is happy and healthy, now.

Rudy, or "Papa," used to take Riley everywhere; he wasn’t just a grandpa, he was his best friend. Norma and Riley are shocked and devastated…but on top of it all, Rudy was their main financial provider. Norma, worked during the day until last September, and for a long time, Rudy worked nights.

Over the years finances were always tight but they made due, but their mobile home has fallen into dire disrepair, especially after a kitchen fire. With health issues leading to decline in ability to keep up with repairs, they planned to save money and finally move into a house.

Now with Rudy gone, that plan is no longer an option.
