Help Norian Medina beat Leukemia!

In early November, our beloved sister, the sweetest cousin and everyone’s favorite friend, Norian, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Since then, she has undergone two different chemotherapy treatments, with the latter working agressively. As to be expected, these treatments have made her extremely sick. Unfortunately, she is fighting an uphill battle as the cancer is spreading rapidly.  

 

Last night, December 17th, after losing consciousness and unable to breathe, she was rushed to the hospital. She will now require oxygen 24x7, constant heart monitoring, be in a wheelchair and undergo more chemo with less rest time in between each treatment.  

 

The Medina family, who are first generation immigrants from the Philippines, are one of the hardest working families I know. Before getting sick, Norian was working as a Medical Assistant and studying to become an RN. Steven (Dad), a U.S. Army Vet and now machinery mechanic, constantly puts in overtime to support the family while Nory (Mom) stays home to care of Norian. Aaron (brother) is serving in the U.S. Air Force and wishes he could be closer. Despite their hard work, the medical bills are mounting. This dear family needs our prayers and financial support.  

 

Last night as Norian was unconscious and not breathing, I hugged my husband as he sobbed “I can’t lose my sister.” As helpless as I felt, I knew I needed to do something to help. I can attest to this family’s humility and sacrifice; the only thing they would request is your prayers for Norian. However, she needs a Christmas miracle and your financial support can help get Norian the best treatment possible to overcome this.
