Help Nori Walk Again: Support Her Recovery

Hi! My name is Khiem. I am not a dog person. But I am a Nori-person. Nori is a pup that I had the pleasure of fostering last year, and after maybe 3 minutes of having her home, I already knew that I wanted to adopt her. Over the last year, I fell in love with her, and her love of life and BEING the life of the party. However, on May 29, 2024, everything changed. Nori was lethargic, couldn't move her hind legs, and overall had me very worried. Over a few days, her condition worsened and I learned that she became a "downed" Frenchie, which essentially meant that she was paralyzed to the point she lost the function of her hind legs.

I had to make the difficult decision of having her go through surgery, with no guarantee that the surgery would be successful. Luckily for me, Nori is stubborn and wanted nothing more than to move those hind legs. $15,000 later, and after several days of healing, Nori came back home. Still no function in her legs, but you could tell that she was in way less pain and confusion. The surgery was as successful as it could be and with pet insurance, I was able to be reimbursed $9,000 of the original cost of the procedure.
Fast forward to today, and Nori has started to get function and mobility in her hind legs and is starting to hold herself up without my assistance. This last week I went to a Physical Therapist to see if she would make a good patient, and as we all know, she was accepted with open arms and the biggest smiles from the vets. However, her physical therapy costs roughly $600 per month for her to be able to gain that functionality and muscle memory needed for her to start walking, running, and playing, again!

Just like her, I am stubborn and don't like to ask for help too often. But I am asking now. I am asking for assistance to get physical therapy for the next few months to really help her along. Nori has been a blessing in my life, helping me deal with severe depression and my mental health. And I want to make sure she has the best quality of life I can provide her, but I know if roles were reversed, she'd do the same for me. So if you can donate something, whether that is a few dollars, I know that it would help me a great deal.

Nori and I thank you!
