Help Nori de strijd tegen IBD en meer te winnen

Soms moet je je trots opzij zetten en inzien dat er haast geen andere mogelijkheden meer zijn... Ik vind het heel moeilijk om deze beslissing te moeten maken. Maar Nori betekent alles voor mij en ik wil hem niet de nodige zorg ontzien. Daarom start ik deze inzamelingsactie voor Nori.
De meeste van jullie kennen Nori wel en wellicht ook het verhaal met ups en voornamelijk downs die we de laatste twee maanden gehad hebben. Vele dierenartsbezoeken hebben tot nu toe uitgewezen dat Nori lijdt aan een auto-immuun gerelateerde IBD ziekte, maar ook nog eens aan pancreatitis. Echter blijkt het nog steeds niet goed te gaan met Nori en zijn we nog steeds dag in - dag uit aan het onderzoeken wat er speelt, wat nog steeds niet tot iets concreet heeft kunnen leiden, helaas. Deze ziekte is een zware strijd, mentaal, maar ook fysiek voor ons beiden. Slapeloze nachten, een vast abonnement op diverse klinieken, een bibliotheek vol ontlasting en braaksel en hopen braaksel en ontlasting opruimen zijn hier onder andere het gevolg van.
Reeds gemaakte kosten:
3252,63 euro.
Dit is een optelsom van vele consulten, medicatie, spoedopnames, meermaals een infuus, bloedonderzoeken, echo's, ontlasting- en urineonderzoeken.
Echter stopt het hier helaas niet.
Nori heeft een speciaal dieet nodig, diverse medicatie en nog velen onderzoeken om te ontdekken wat er nu precies gaande is en om hem te helpen helen.
'Begin november moest Nori met spoed opgenomen worden in Duitsland. Dit was nog een hele actie gezien op zaterdag niet veel klinieken open zijn, zoals in Nederland. Gelukkig had ik een superlieve vriendin die ons kon helpen als tolk, maar ook voor het maken van een afspraak. Er werd bloed afgenomen en hij werd aan een infuus gelegd. Het advies wat ze toen uitsprak staat nog steeds in mijn herinnering: ''Nori mag niks meer doen''. Op dezelfde dag zijn wij nog terug naar Nederland gereden om hem van de beste zorg te voorzien in onze moedertaal. Binnen twee weken is er 2000 euro doorheen gegaan aan consulten, medicatie en vele onderzoeken. En dan heb ik het speciaal voer nog niet meegeteld. Echter het ging maar niet beter met Nori. Mijn sterke, sportieve hond van 26.5kg woog nog maar 22kg. De weken vlogen voorbij, nog steeds met vele onderzoeken, consulten, medicatie en een Nori welke maar achteruit bleef gaan. Het meest frustrerende was dat hij op papier bijna niks mankeert. Maar ondertussen weegt Nori nog maar 19.45kg. Hij heeft geen spieren meer, hij leeft op een sterke mindset en die megasterke mindset wil ik graag voortzetten. Hij is een vechter en verdient het om te leven. In deze korte twee maanden heb ik al 3x het gevoel gehad 'hier stopt het, dit was het dan.' Zo slecht ging het met hem, maar hij vocht iedere keer. Nori is nog geen vier jaar, hij heeft nog een lang leven voor zich waar we beide zo lang mogelijk van willen genieten.
Helaas wordt het voor ons nu toch emotioneel en financieel erg zwaar om de verdere onderzoeken, medicatie en voeding te kunnen bekostigen. Daarom start ik, na enorm lang overwegen en twijfelen, deze donatieactie en hoop ik van harte dat mensen ons willen en kunnen helpen om de komende kosten te kunnen dekken.

Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and you realize you ran out of options. I found it very difficult to make this decision, but Nori means the world to me and I don't want to deprive him of his necessary care. This is why I decided to start a fundraiser for Nori.
Most of you probably know Nori and might have heard about the ups and mainly downs we faced in the last two months. After many vet visits, we found out that Nori suffers from an autoimmune disease called IBD, as well as pancreatitis. Despite the diagnosis, Nori still didn’t seem to recover. We are still trying to figure out what is going on. This disease is a tough battle, both mentally also physically, for all of us. This results in sleepless nights, countless visits to various clinics, a library full of faeces and vomit, and constant cleaning.
The costs so far:
3252,63 euros
This is the sum of various consultations, medication, emergency admissions, several IV’s, blood tests, ultrasounds and stool and urine tests.
Unfortunately, the story doesn’t end there. Nori needs a special diet, various medications and many more tests to find out what exactly is going on with him and to help him recover.
At the beginning of November, Nori had the be urgently admitted in Germany. This was quite a challenge since there aren’t many clinics that are open on Saturdays, just like in the Netherlands. Fortunately, I had a really sweet friend that could help us as an interpreter to make an appointment. They did a blood test and he was put on an IV. The advice the vet gave us was that Nori wasn’t aloud to do anything anymore. The same day we drove back to The Netherlands to provide him with the best possible care at a vet that spoke our native language. Within two weeks we had to spent 2000 euros on consultations, medication and many tests. And I haven't even added the costs of his special diet. However, things didn't seem to improve for Nori.
My strong, sporty 26.5kg dog now weighed only 22kg. The weeks flew by, and despite many tests, consultations and medication, Nori just kept getting worse.
The most frustrating part is that on paper he might seem healthy, but in the meantime Nori keeps losing weight up until the point where he only weighs 19.45 kg. His muscles are completely gone. He is living on a strong mindset and I would like him to stay in that strong mindset.
He is a fighter and deserves to be alive. In these last two months, there were 3 moments already where I thought 'this is it, this is the end.’ He was in such a terrible state, but he fought every time. Nori isn’t even four years old yet and he has a long life ahead of him that we both want to enjoy as long as possible.
