Survival after the loss of Norge Village

Norge Village was our dream, our home, and our connection to the community. We are devastated by the loss of our business.

Owned and run since 2004, our business was our lifeblood. Together Lorene and I have worked nonstop to hold an essential position in our community like many other small businesses.

Norge was a winner of the Best of the Bay, elected by the community to represent quality business in 2012. We were also written up in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2005, along with Oakland Post in 2021. They won due to their reliability, kindness, exceptional customer service, and overall love for their community. They thought of everyone as family making people feel at home on any given day. Community means so much to them.

In memory of everything these ladies have given to the community, they are asking for support more than ever. Now homeless, they are currently looking for work and home placement diligently. Desperate, we came to goFundme for help. Genny is also currently undergoing cancer treatment, while Lorene is her primary caregiver. With friends to help them navigate this challenging time, they need your support to get them to the finish line.
