Hi, my name is Nora Johnson, a fashion design and merchandising major at Washington State University, and I’m raising funds to invest in my future. I have just landed a fashion design internship with a major company in New York City this summer. This is a life-changing opportunity, yet like so many passionate students chasing their dreams, the biggest obstacle isn’t talent. It’s the cost of living.

New York City is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Between rent, transportation, food, and professional essentials, the financial burden of a summer in NYC is simply out of reach without support. That's where your support comes in.

I put my all into everything and anything I put my mind to. I am an honors student currently writing my thesis on transformable wearables, exploring the innovative intersection of fashion and technology. I am a Distinguished Scholar and was recently recognized as an Emerging Leader in Human Sciences by my college, successes that reflect not just my academic excellence, but my creativity and drive.

My passion for fashion has taken me across the world. I spent a semester studying abroad in Paris, one of the largest fashion capitals in the world, where I gained hands-on experience assisting with a fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. I didn't just observe; I showed up and worked hard to support their team.

Now, a reputable fashion company has noticed. Through talent, dedication, and showing up fully, no matter the circumstances, I have worked diligently to secure an opportunity like this one. This internship is minimally compensated. Without financial support, I would have to turn down the very opportunity I have worked so hard to obtain. I’m asking for help covering my summer housing, groceries, and transportation while in New York City.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward giving me a safe place to live and the stability I need to focus on my work, rather than survival.

This isn't just a summer job. Fashion is an industry built on connections, experiences, and proving yourself at the right moments. A successful internship with a major company could lead to a full-time role after graduation, industry mentorship, and a network that opens doors for years to come.

I’ve worked tirelessly to prove, time and again, that when given the chance, I can deliver. I just need the chance.
