Many people in the Beverly and Morgan Park know Nora Naatz through Mama Massage Chicago, her massage therapy practice or as the lifeguard who taught their kids to swim or as the person who made delicious pies, chocolates and caramels at various local markets. What you may not know, is that Nora is always helping out, whether it's making a dinner for friends, creating care packages for moms who need help, volunteering at school or even throwing a birthday party for a migrant child. Nora is also the collector of lost toys (but the toys are people) because she's always finding new people to make friends with and bring home. Nora is always out and about in the neighborhood.
Last August, Nora was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). Since then, Nora has endured multiple hospitalizations due to complications of her cancer testing and treatment. She has had multiple surgeries and has been unable to work and either of her jobs since October of 2024. While the Naatz family does have health insurance, they are still fighting denied claims from multiple her hospitals stays as well as all the other daily and expenses of cancer treatment and recovery.
Nora is not one to ask for any help, even as she extends help to others in need...however costs are piling up and with months left to go before she can get back to her physically demanding work, she and her family need some help.
Please contribute whatever you can or share. Every bit helps and all funds will go directly to the Naatz family.
