Hello, I'm Esme, I am an English PhD student based in London, and I am creating this fundraiser to try and help my friend Noorhan in Gaza.. The family has recently grown, with the arrival of two baby girl twins, Loren and Daryen, in December 2025. Here is Noorhan's story in her own words, written in spring 2025:

"My name is Noorhan Al-Samhouri. We are a small family from Gaza — three tired souls: Mohammed, Noorhan, and our sweet daughter, Rehab. I am now pregnant with our second child, carrying this baby in my heart before I can hold them in my arms. Every passing day, I fear I may never see them… or they may never see me.

We live in Gaza, where death passes over our heads every moment. There is no safe home, no clean water, no electricity, and not even sleep without fear. All we have is each other… and a small hope that someone out there can hear our voices through the rubble.

Me before the war

I gave birth to Rehab just 10 days into the war, on October 17th, 2023. It was a C-section without anesthesia, under heavy shelling and a tank siege at Al-Shifa Medical Hospital. Due to the overwhelming number of cases, I couldn’t stay in the hospital long. I left, still in pain and with stitches, and walked on foot to the south of Gaza seeking safety.

Rehab is still very young, but she feels everything. Her smile fades with every moment I struggle. I try to stay strong for her, but the truth is—I can’t do this alone.

We are not asking for much — we just want to live. We want to give our daughter a simple life: a warm bed, clean food, and access to a hospital if she gets sick. We want our unborn child to be born in peace, not under the sound of missiles or in the shadow of constant fear.

This campaign is a cry from the heart of destruction — from a mother afraid for her children, and a father who wishes he could protect them more.

Due to restrictions and difficulties in Palestine, especially under occupation, it is often impossible for Palestinians to create and manage fundraising campaigns like this one. For this reason, they rely on supporters outside Palestine to help launch and run these campaigns, ensuring that aid reaches those in need despite the many obstacles. Once a certain amount is collected, I will transfer it to Noorhan via bank transfer. However, due to banking speculation, the fees applied to international transfers are very high, resulting in a loss of part of the amount sent. I will keep you updated on every transaction for maximum transparency.
