We are reaching out to ask for support for Noor. This has been an incredibly hard year and they really don’t like asking for help so this is a big step. As so many of us have seen, Noor gives endlessly to everyone around them, their friends, comrades, even people they’ve just met. They pour themselves into organizing work and mutual aid, often putting others’ needs before their own and now they really need us to show up for them.

After a domino of financial, physical, and mental health crises this year, last week was a tipping point and they are finally open to receiving support. Their car was stolen last Tuesday and stripped of everything. When it was recovered, it was missing the catalytic converter, battery, fuses, transmission, and everything inside the car. The cost to repair it would be more than replacing the car entirely. Their car is not only how they get to work and around LA, but also how they travel to Irvine for college.

They also lost thousands of dollars worth of belongings: two computers, clothing, work and organizing supplies, art, muay thai and camping gear, and other essentials that they need for day to day life and work.

We are hoping to raise $8,000 for a used car and $4,000 to replace lost belongings and cover GoFundMe fees.

Beyond the material, this would also help them stay stable and move out of survival mode after months of crisis. Noor works full time, attends college to maintain their immigration status, and shows up whenever their community needs them. We know so many people are also struggling right now, but if you have any extra funds, even a small amount will help! This would really help get them through the end of the year.
