Hello, my name is Erin, and I’m one of Nonnie’s daughters.

Today, Mum lost a piece of her heart — her beautiful boy, Romeo.

Romeo was the happiest, most loving dog you could ever meet. Always ready for a treat, a car ride, a cuddle, a walk, or a game of fetch — and he never said no to sharing an icy pole with one of Mum’s grandkids on a hot summer’s day.

For the past 12 years, Romeo has been Mum’s loyal companion and best mate. He was there for her through the hardest times — when she lost two of her sisters, when her heart was broken by loss, and when she celebrated new life and love in our family. Romeo was always by her side, offering comfort, warmth, and unconditional love.

Now that he’s gone, Mum wants to give him the farewell he deserves — to have him cremated and placed in a memorial box, so she can keep him close to her heart and home.

Many of you know Mum — she’s always been a giver. She’s cooked meals for people during the fires, founded the non-profit organisation “Unleash the Joy” using her own money to help families in need, and opened her home to children and community members who needed food, warmth, and love.

Now, for once, she’s the one who needs a little help and kindness in return.
