Help Nolan Fight a Brain Tumor

Donation protected
Urgent Need for Support
Nolan is a bright, energetic, and caring 6-year-old. Just 2 days before his kindergarten graduation, he was diagnosed with a highly suspected medulloblastoma, an aggressive cancerous brain tumor. His doctors have recommended immediate surgery, which is scheduled for Friday, March 7th—a date that also happens to be his older sister Ariya’s birthday. If the surgery is successful in removing the entire tumor, he will probably still need months of radiation and chemotherapy to ensure the best possible outcome. The five-year survival rate in Thailand is greater than 50%, which gives us hope, but we want to do everything we can to push that number as high as possible.

About Nolan & His Sisters
Nolan is a fast learner, always on the move, and full of curiosity. He loves playing with his twin sister Nyla, riding his bike, and helping out wherever he can. He’s currently into Minecraft and ninjas, and he always encourages those around him to join in on the fun. Nyla, his twin, already misses him deeply while he’s in the hospital, and Ariya, his 11-year-old older sister, is trying to process everything emotionally. This isn’t just about saving Nolan, as we’re also trying to make sure his sisters don’t lose their best friend and loving brother in the process.

How the Funds Will Be Used
All donations will go into a dedicated medical account, used exclusively for Nolan’s treatment and recovery. These funds will cover anything not covered by his government insurance:
* Brain surgery costs and post-surgical care.
* MRI scans (each costing approx. $850 USD) before and after treatment, plus frequent scans every six months for at least five years.
* Possibly radiation therapy (daily, 5 days per week for about 6 weeks) and possibly chemotherapy (weekly or biweekly cycles for several months)… but this is unknown until the post-surgery biopsy.
* Hospital stays, essential medications, therapies, and other medical services not covered by his government insurance.

While government insurance helps, it does not cover everything, and the costs are already starting to accumulate rapidly. We don’t like to ask for charity or handouts, but in addition to likely falling financially short of Nolan’s medical needs over the next few months, we still need to pay our regular bills to support his two sisters through this process.

By helping Nolan get the best care possible, you are also ensuring that his sisters remain emotionally and developmentally supported without the entire family being financially devastated.

Why Your Support Matters
We are terrified about what comes next, and as each day passes, Nolan is becoming less brave and starting to feel scared. We are looking for as much emotional support and encouragement as possible, because we’ve heard from countless people that a positive, fighting attitude can make a real difference in his recovery.

If you would like to visit Nolan, please do so before Friday, as the brain surgery will likely leave him unable to speak or move much for 1–2 weeks while he recovers. Knowing that he has a strong support system around him could help him through the hardest battle of his life.

We will continue sharing updates about Nolan’s treatment and progress. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support.

With deepest gratitude,
Adam Shane
