Nokukhanya Mdlalose, my sister, has faced an incredibly tough journey over the past two years. She has a history of Hydrocephalus, a condition that has required her to undergo multiple brain surgeries for shunt placement. Sadly, each of these surgeries has ended in disappointment, as all the shunts have failed. In addition to these challenges, Nokukhanya is also living with kidney failure and underwent kidney surgery a year and a half ago. Now, she is due for another critical brain operation this Friday, but the financial burden is overwhelming. She still owes the hospital a significant amount of money from previous procedures and needs to cover co-payments for the upcoming surgery, as well as ongoing kidney care.
The situation has been made even more difficult because Nokukhanya has been out of work for about two years due to her health challenges, and she has lost her medical benefits. The stress of mounting medical bills and the uncertainty of her health have taken a toll on her and our family. Despite these hardships, Nokukhanya remains hopeful and determined to recover, return to work, and continue supporting her loved ones.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward Nokukhanya’s surgery, hospital debts, and recovery. Your support will not only help her get the treatment she urgently needs but also give her the chance to regain her independence and rebuild her life. We would be deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
