Please Help the Nogueira Family Rebuild Their Home After Storm Kristin

In January, our family’s world changed overnight.

Storm Kristin swept through Coimbra, Portugal, leaving destruction in its path — and my cousin Alexandre, his wife and two boys lost their home completely.

In a matter of hours, everything they had worked so hard for was gone, their lives reduced to rubble.

A Devastating Loss

Alexandre is a devoted husband and father who has always done everything he can to provide for his family. Without insurance and no safety net to fall back on, they are now facing the unimaginable reality of starting over from nothing.

They are currently living in temporary housing, doing their best to maintain stability for their two boys during an incredibly uncertain time. While they are grateful to have a temporary place to stay, it is not a permanent solution — and the emotional toll of losing their home has been overwhelming.

The Challenge of Rebuilding

Before they can even begin rebuilding, the debris and rubble from the destroyed house must be removed — a significant cost on its own. On top of that, construction materials are more expensive than ever, making rebuilding far more costly than it would have been just a few months ago.

What was already a devastating situation has become even more financially overwhelming.

This fundraiser has been created to help cover:

-The cost of clearing and removing the rubble

-Essential rebuilding expenses

-Rising construction material costs

-Basic needs as they work toward stability

How Funds Will Be Managed

Because Alexandre is currently unable to personally manage international bank transfers, the funds will be handled by my sister, Anabela Sarti, who is also Alexandre’s cousin.

My sister and I personally guarantee that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to supporting Alexandre, his wife, and their two boys during this rebuilding process.

Transparency and integrity are extremely important to us. This fundraiser is created out of love, family, and a deep desire to help them recover from something they never could have prepared for.
