Help Noemi Afford Bariatric Surgery

Around 10 years ago, my mom was diagnosed with Hypothroidism, also known as underactive thyroid disease. This is a disease that affects 1 in 8 women and is known as the thyroid gland (located in the front, lower part of your neck) failing to produce enough of the crucial thyroid hormone.
Your thyroid is responsible for providing energy to nearly every organ in your body and it controls functions such as the digestive system and heartbeat. Untreated, Hypothyroidism can result in serious health issues such as heart disease, kidney disease, nerve damage and cognitive issues.
Over the last 10 years, my Mom's Hypothyroidism has caused her to gain a serious amount of weight due to the failure of her treatment, and her symptoms continue to impact her daily life and functions. The weight gain and her disease cause feelings of fatigue, depression, muscle pain, weakness, impaired memory and more. To attempt to prevent further serious health issues caused by hypothyroidism and the weight gain, her Doctors stated she is need of a Sleeve Gastrectomy procedure.
My Mom does not have private health insurance and the Sleeve Gastrectomy is not covered by the Mexican government healthcare system, nor is the surgery being offered through the government system during COVID-19. Her only option is to pay for the procedure privately, which costs around $8000 CAD. In addition to the procedure, my mom will need funds to cover expenses for post-op medications, additional hospital costs, vitamins and supplements. She will not be able to work for about 3-4 weeks following surgery, which will make these expenses even more difficult to pay for.
We are hoping to raise $10,000 CAD to help my Mom get the surgery she needs to improve her health and have a safe and healthy recovery. All of my life, my Mom has provided for my brother and I. She has been there for not only us, but every person who meets her or is blessed enough to have her in their life. She is caring, selfless, and loves her family and friends unconditionally. She is a beautiful person inside and out, and these funds will help her to conquer the disease and weight gain that has affected her every single day. My Mom has always gone out of her way for others and does so many selfless acts for other people. With these funds, she will finally have the ability to do this for herself.
Our goal is to raise the funds for my Mom as soon as possible, as this has been impacting her life for over a decade. My Mom is loved deeply by so many family members and friends who want her to stay healthy and happy for a very long time.
