A few upgrades can completely change this family’s daily life.
Help Noelia & Isabella’s Family Build a More Stable Future
I wanted to share the story of a family my friend Summer has been helping in Ecuador.
Summer has been directly supporting and staying in contact with a family in Durán, Ecuador for quite some time now. The parents, Raquel and Marcos, both work hard every day, but even with that, they only earn minimum wage, which makes it extremely difficult to improve their living situation.
They have two daughters—Noelia, who is about to turn 11, and Isabella, who is 8.
Right now, their home has a lot of challenges. They deal with unreliable access to clean water, frequent power outages, and older appliances that don’t always work. Even basic daily tasks can be difficult because of this.
Even with all of this, they are doing everything they can to move forward.
Marcos works in a warehouse, and both he and Raquel have gone back to school to build a better future. Marcos is continuing his basic education, and Raquel is taking classes in electrical so she can create more opportunities for their family.
With Summer’s help, they’ve been building small ways to support themselves. Raquel started a side hustle selling chocolate-covered bananas, the girls make small crafts to sell when they can, and they now raise chickens for both food and a small source of income.
But their environment still makes it difficult to stay consistent. Power outages are common, and without reliable electricity, Raquel has lost batches of her products more than once.
Even with all of this, they continue to stay positive and keep moving forward. They are truly an amazing family.
Summer shared this with me:
“I’ve been helping them for a while now, and they truly are doing everything they can to create a better life for their kids.”
Over time, Summer has helped improve parts of their home—replacing dirt floors with concrete, getting fans to make the heat more manageable, and providing clothes and essentials. But there’s still more that could make a real difference in their daily life.
So we decided to try to do something more together.
Our goal is to raise funds to:
• Help them get a reliable washing machine and basic appliances
• Make small but meaningful improvements to their home
• Provide transportation (Scooter) so they can get to work and school more reliably
• Help them begin the process of getting passports for future opportunities
• Laptops for Raquel and Marcos
These changes would make their daily life more stable and allow them to continue building toward a better future.
Funds will be managed by Summer, who has been directly supporting and staying in contact with the family, and will be sent to them through Western Union.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward improving their living conditions and helping them move forward, and we’ll continue to share updates so you can see exactly how your support is making a difference.
If you’re able to help, even a small amount truly matters.
$10 helps with daily essentials
$50 helps with utilities and household needs
$100–300 helps fund meaningful improvements
And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this can go just as far.
They’re already doing everything they can to build a better life.
This is just a chance to help them build it on a stronger foundation.
Thank you for being part of that.
