Hi, my name is Elena Badiola.

Last Tuesday, my dear friend Noelia narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation. As she was driving home from work, her family members warned her about the severe flooding in Benetusser. While on the phone with her parents, she witnessed cars turning around and driving against the traffic flow. Following their advice, she did the same.

Soon after, emergency services personnel halted traffic and instructed everyone to abandon their vehicles due to rising water levels. The group was stranded for five hours, with no communication from authorities. Despite repeated attempts to call 112, they were met with a non-existent number message.

As the situation worsened, some individuals ventured out to seek alternative routes, only to be met with impassable floodwaters. The group was advised to wait and hope that the river would not overflow.

After five hours of uncertainty, they were finally given permission to attempt a perilous journey through floodwaters, wading through knee-deep water for two kilometers. Thankfully, Noelia reached safety, though she was unable to contact her parents and brother for several hours. Her mother, fearing for her daughter's well-being, revealed that their home had been flooded with five feet of water.

Miraculously, Noelia and her extended family are all safe and sound. However, their home and her father's business have been completely destroyed.

I've already donated to the Red Cross, but I've also set up this GoFundMe campaign to help them rebuild their lives. The recovery process will be lengthy and arduous, and insurance claims may take time to process. I want to assist them in covering unexpected expenses, such as replacing lost vehicles, while they wait for insurance reimbursements.

The funds will go directly to Noelia.
