Help Noel with her fight against cancer❤️

Hi, my name is Emily and I am a close friend of Noel Mowery. As some of you may know, on July 8th of this year, Noel went into surgery for what she thought would be a routine appendectomy. What was originally thought to be just a case of appendicitis, turned out to be an extremely rare type of cancer - a neuroendocrine tumor of her appendix. Her surgeon was confident that by removing her appendix, he had gotten all of the cancer, but that wasn’t the case. After receiving more tests and a second opinion, Noel learned that not only was she not cancer free - she needed another surgery.
On August 20th, Noel received a second surgery called HIPEC - also known as “the mother of all surgeries.” Unlike her appendectomy which was laparoscopic, this time Noel was opened up so that her entire abdominal cavity could be inspected for areas the cancer may have affected. After removing affected areas (part of an ovary and part of her liver), they continued with the second part of the surgery which consisted of flushing hot chemotherapy within her abdominal cavity in hopes of killing any remaining microscopic cancer cells that may have been missed. Noel spent around a week recovering in the hospital after the surgery, but shortly after being released home she ended up back in the hospital - septic (an infection) with bilateral pleural effusions (fluid in both of her lungs). Noel had to have a chest tube placed to drain the fluid from one of her lungs. She was in the hospital for about another week before being released home again.
Noel is now home, but it has been a hard recovery with multiple unforeseen complications from the surgery. Because of this, she is not going to be able to return to work when they thought she would, and bills are piling up. As you all know, Noel is a nurse and has one of the biggest hearts of anyone you will ever meet. She is going through one of life’s toughest battles, but even still, every time I visit her she only wants to know what is going on in my life and what she can do to help me. This time though, it is my turn to help her. Noel’s husband, Shawn, is a firefighter, and has been working extra shifts to make ends meet. They have a 7 year old son, and also Noel’s father lives with them, who is sadly living out his last days on hospice in the comfort of their home. Needless to say, the Mowery’s need our help. For 2 people who have devoted their careers to saving lives, I am asking their friends and family for help in returning the favor. Please join me in helping this amazing family get back on their feet!❤️
