Help Noe Recover from his Injury

[Español abajo]

The Athens Immigrant Rights Coalition is looking for support for a beloved member of our community. Noe Mendoza is an activist, musician, and active member of the Athens community for more than 15 years. He and his brother, Beto, are founders of the immigrant rights movement here in Athens. It would be impossible to name all of Noe’s contributions to our community because he has helped so many people over the years. Now it is time for us to help him.

Noe, a car mechanic by trade, has been diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis, a condition in his lower spine that has made him unable to work. He is in a lot of pain and the use of his legs has been affected. Noe has had to visit the ER multiple times and doctors are now recommending physical therapy before considering an operation. As someone who is uninsured, Noe will have to pay for the medical costs of therapy in full, and living expenses as he is unable to make an income.

You may know Noe from seeing him at various protests and demonstrations - he is known for his enthusiasm - shouting through a megaphone and energizing the crowd. Or maybe you’ve seen him and his band, Incatepec, playing music at LatinxFest (which he also helped found). Your children may have met him at their school since he and his band have visited nearly all of them to share their music and culture with the kids.

Noe supports our community in so many ways. He needs our support now. Please donate whatever you can to help him as he recovers in these uncertain times.

You can donate here or to the AIRC Venmo, @AIRC_Athens. You can pay by check, made out to Athens Immigrant Rights Coalition, and mail to 452 N. Billups St. Athens, GA 30606. Please note it is for Noe Mendoza in the memo line. To offer other resources, please reach out to us on our website.
Thank you so much!

¡Muchas gracias!
