Help Noah and Pieter move on from the Palisades Fire
Donation protected
Last Tuesday, January 7th, my son Noah called from the school in Pacific Palisades where he teaches, to tell me he was evacuating his 2nd graders. When the campus was cleared, he walked back to the apartment he shared with Pieter, his mom, to pack up and evacuate. This meant walking into the fire zone. Of course, I was worried about him going toward the smoke and fires, but he insisted they be together.
Thirty minutes later, Noah called from their building to say he was encouraging other neighbors to leave.
Once the flames appeared across the street, Noah and Pieter had little time to pack. They left with next to nothing, unable to imagine they wouldn't return. By three, everyone had left, and the next day the building was ash.
Like everyone else who lost their homes in the fires, Noah and Pieter are now navigating the devastation of loss.
I'm starting this fundraiser to help my son and his mom replace the things they lost that day. Noah also needs to find a new place to live, so needs assistance with food, rent and a deposit on a new place. Please consider helping Noah; he's a giver with a heart of gold and rarely asks for anything for himself, so I'm asking for him.
Any money raised will be spent to replace things like clothes, furniture, kitchenware, as well as books, teaching supplies and other items Noah and Pieter need to work towards normalizing their lives.
