My name is Penny and I’ve known Noah Gould since birth and have had the privilege of working for this young man since 2014.
I wanted to start this GoFundMe because he’s one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met and is deserving of receiving the love he pours out to others every day.
Noah was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the tender age of six. After eight surgeries, followed by chemo and radiation, Noah battled and defeated cancer. He has dealt with the residual effects of cancer and its treatments for the last seventeen years. He struggles with coordination and balance, depth perception, brain fog and memory retention. He has a shunt that drains his hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and at one point, he wasn’t expected to walk again but he exceeded all expectations.
Through it all, he has remained positive, loving and grateful to God. As a six year old, he would remind us daily that Jesus was with him. University of Iowa Hospital personnel was so impressed with his maturity and positive attitude that they had him record a video showing other children that there’s no need to fear the scary radiation mask they had to wear for treatments. Noah has stoically dealt with issues many of us would find difficult to bear. Never complaining, always uplifting others around him.
Noah and his family have endured a lot of setbacks lately. His mother recently lost her position after more than twenty five years of service due to the hospital in their town closing. He lost one of his closest confidants and biggest advocate, his maternal grandmother who passed during this latest diagnosis.
Now at the age of twenty three he has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a different type of brain cancer.
Noah is choosing to fight again.
This family needs and deserves our support. We have watched the power of prayer heal and comfort during Noah’s last battle and we’re requesting all prayer warriors to join us in overcoming this latest diagnosis.
We’re also asking for monetary help as Noah and his mother will be residing two hours away from their loved ones as he undergoes twice daily radiation treatments, followed by chemotherapy and any other treatments he may need.
