Help Nizhoni & Aaron's Mom, Anita Fight Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
Hey it's me, I'm Nizhoni (nuh-show-knee) and my brother Aaron and we are creating this fundraiser on behalf of our incredible mother. Our family is facing one of the toughest battles of our lives—my mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4 bladder cancer that has metastasized to her femur, and additional cancerous lesions have been found in her stomach, lungs, and even at the base of her skull.

This heartbreaking diagnosis came after months of misdiagnosed symptoms we believed were recurring UTIs. Since Thanksgiving, she had been experiencing frequent infections, but we never imagined it would lead to this. In early April, she was rushed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where we learned the devastating truth.

As if that wasn’t enough, her condition was further complicated by urosepsis—a life-threatening infection in her bloodstream caused by Enterococcus faecalis. After a painful stay in the hospital, she was discharged with a nephrostomy tube and a new pain management plan.

Just days later, she was set to begin her first round of radiation and chemotherapy, but during a routine consultation, things took a turn for the worse. She became disoriented and began showing signs of another infection. We rushed her to the ER, where she was admitted to the ICU and intubated. This time, the culprit was E. coli caused by a dislodged nephrostomy tube. She went into septic shock, was sedated for 2 days, and by God’s grace—she pulled through.

This journey has already been long, painful, and exhausting—and the real fight hasn’t even begun. She is still too weak to start treatment, and we are praying she regains the strength needed to start radiation and chemotherapy soon.

I’ve taken time off work to care for her, help with transportation to appointments, and manage household responsibilities. The medical costs, gas for hospital trips, missed wages, and daily expenses are starting to pile up, and we humbly ask for your help.

How your donations will help:

Transportation to Mayo Clinic and local hospitals

Home care support and medical supplies

Nutritional support to help her regain strength

Temporary financial relief for missed work

We know times are hard for everyone, so any amount—even just a few dollars or a share—means the world to us. If you’re not able to give financially, please keep our family in your prayers.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless you for being part of our village.
