Help Nixon’s Family Stay Close During Recovery

Donation protected
My son Nixon is just 6 months old and has already faced more challenges than most of us will in a lifetime. He was born with a rare and complex genetic condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, which means his cerebellum didn’t fully form. Because of this, Nixon has severe respiratory issues and no muscle tone, making it hard for him to breathe and nearly impossible for him to move. On top of that, he has bilateral vocal cord paralysis, which makes his breathing even more difficult.

On December 26th, Nixon went into acute respiratory failure and had to be airlifted to Nemours Orlando Children’s Hospital, which is 50 miles away from our home. He is now preparing for a tracheostomy surgery to help him breathe, but his recovery will be slow and uncertain. As parents, it’s heartbreaking to be separated from him, and the distance makes it even harder. We want nothing more than to be by his side every day as he fights through this, but the cost of traveling 100 miles each day is overwhelming.

We are asking for help so we can stay close to Nixon during his recovery. The funds raised will go toward transportation to and from the hospital, as well as any out-of-pocket medical expenses that come up along the way. Please help us stay close with Nixon as he’s going through recovery. Anything helps and any help is incredibly appreciated.
