Help Niurka & Baby JJ Recover After a Tragic Shooting

Hello everyone,

On Thursday, October 17th, 2024, my cousin Niurka Cruz and her baby boy JJ who is only 2 years old were tragically involved in a shooting. After picking up JJ from his father, Niurka was followed and eventually blocked in at a stop sign. In a senseless act of violence, the father opened fire, emptying an entire clip into the car.

Niurka was shot three times: once in the face, once in the shoulder (which has left her arm broken and in need of surgery), and once near her rib area, with a bullet now lodged near her spine. JJ was also struck twice, once in the arm and once in the leg. Thankfully, JJ is recovering well, but Niurka has a long road ahead of her.

Both were airlifted to the hospital, and while we are grateful they are alive, Niurka’s recovery will require extensive surgery, dental work, and long-term care. As Niurka remains in the hospital awaiting surgery, this campaign is to help ease the burden of medical bills, recovery expenses, and the daily costs of living as she’s unable to work.

Every single prayer, donation, or share means the world to our family. It is a true miracle of God that they are still with us today, and we are doing everything we can to support them in their journey to healing.

Ayuda a Niurka y al Bebé JJ en su Recuperación tras un Trágico Tiroteo

Hola a todos,

El jueves 17 de octubre de 2024, mi prima Niurka Cruz y su bebé JJ de apenas 2 años fueron trágicamente involucrados en un tiroteo. Después de recoger a JJ de su padre, Niurka fue seguida y eventualmente bloqueada en una señal de alto. En un acto de violencia sin sentido, el padre disparó, vaciando un cargador completo en el automóvil.

Niurka recibió tres disparos: uno en el rostro, otro en el hombro (que le ha dejado el brazo roto y necesitará cirugía) y uno cerca de la costilla, con una bala ahora alojada cerca de su columna vertebral. JJ también fue impactado dos veces, una en el brazo y otra en la pierna. Afortunadamente, JJ se está recuperando bien, pero Niurka tiene un largo camino por delante.

Ambos fueron trasladados en helicóptero al hospital, y aunque estamos agradecidos de que estén vivos, la recuperación de Niurka requerirá cirugías, trabajo dental y cuidados a largo plazo. Mientras Niurka permanece en el hospital esperando cirugía, esta campaña es para ayudar a aliviar la carga de las facturas médicas, los gastos de recuperación y los costos diarios de vida, ya que no puede trabajar.

Cada oración, donación o compartir significa mucho para nuestra familia. Es un verdadero milagro de Dios que sigan con nosotros hoy, y estamos haciendo todo lo posible para apoyarlos en su camino hacia la sanación.
