My dog Nitro is more than just a pet—he’s my service dog, my best friend, and my constant companion. Nitro is an 8-year-old Bearded Collie who started life as a champion puppy, winning the 2018 Bearded Collie Club of America title. When the pandemic sidelined his show career, he found a new purpose as my service dog, helping me navigate the world as a deaf person. His loyalty and love have been a lifeline for me every single day.

Recently, Nitro suffered a ruptured cruciate (ACL) ligament. Since January, he’s been on pain medication and wearing a brace, but now he’s starting to limp again and needs surgery as soon as possible. The cost of the surgery is more than I can afford on my own, and I’m reaching out for help so Nitro can get the care he needs to live a happy, pain-free life. Your support will go directly toward his surgery and recovery, giving him the chance to enjoy many more years by my side.

Nitro is truly special—not just because of his achievements, but because of the bond we share. As a dog trainer, I taught him to 'hear' for me, something rare for this friendly, happy-go-lucky breed.
