Hi, my name is Nita. I'm a 32-year-old single mother to an 8-year-old boy. Back in 2019, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, I've been running into health issues that have become costly. I currently have medical insurance, but I have been getting denials for medically necessary appointments and equipment. In November of 2024, I had a cardiac event that started with an urgent care visit and then ended in the emergency room. I was placed with a Holter (heart) monitor for two weeks. Also, I had to do a home sleep study that resulted in being diagnosed with Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome. I was denied coverage for an inpatient sleep study in December. During that time, I was at work when my cardiac problems occurred and had to be transported by ambulance to the emergency room yet again, which left me with an expensive bill. Now in 2025, my medicine for my MS has been switched, and I was without it for two months due to insurance issues and had to pay out of pocket. I recently followed up with a CPAP provider, and insurance will not cover a CPAP machine. That facility routed me to a medical healthcare supply with the option to rent equipment just to be able to sleep safely through the night. So I'm asking for assistance just to afford the equipment, medicine, past co-pays, and ambulance bill.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be contributed. -Nita
