Help Nishi With her Cataract Surgery
Donation protected
Most of you have met my tiny brown potato at some point, and hopefully know and love her more than other potatoes you’ve encountered. I’ve had her since she was 4 weeks old and is now pushing 16 years old!

Up until this summer, she was running around like she always has; vagina dragging, barking at you for pets, whining for cheese, The usual.

Only this year her big brown eyes started getting cloudier and cloudier. We noticed a small change in her demeanor, and it seemed as if she was lost when we’d take her outside. It was obvious the light was effecting her vision.

We met with an eye doctor who checked her out and found that she has two cataracts, smack dab in the center of each of her eyes, making it hard to see when it’s bright out.

We first took her in 5 months ago, when she bumped her eye on a routine walk out front when literally, the wind blew and scared her causing her to scratch her eye on the staircase. This was not a cheap vet visit, and low and behold, this happened again yesterday.

I was hoping the blurry vision wouldn’t get to a point that it would really effect her everyday life, but she no longer can use the stairs or jump on/off the bed. And seems noticeably more mobile once the sun goes down (and no, she’s not a vampire).

The doctor says she’s healthy as a ox (would have never guessed she was over 8) and would do well with surgery. There’s an 85-90% success rate. While I’d prefer to not have her go through all of this, I also don’t want her to constantly be bumping into things and injuring herself further.

Between the surgery for both eyes and tests leading up to the surgery, it will be over $7,000. I’m scheduling the surgery for January and would love ANY help you can give, whether it’s $ or even maybe a share of the post. Nini and I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
