Help Niq Niq Start Her College Life

Hardworking. Considerate. Kind. BTS-fanatic. Best big sister ever. These are the qualities that describe my niece, Vasjenique Maddox, better known as Niq Niq to her close family and friends. In just a few short weeks, Niq Niq starts college at Kennesaw State University where she plans to major in Psychology w/ pre-med track to work towards becoming a medical doctor. This will be her first time living away from home, and to say the least, she's nervously excited.

We are excited and proud of her for all she's done to set herself up for success in this new chapter, including earning the Hope scholarship which covers her in-state tuition. She also won a modest scholarship from school, will receive the Federal Pell Grant, and has accepted a small subsidized loan to cover some of her additional expenses like housing. For the most part, her direct college expenses are covered, but there is still a gap to fill.

As some of you may know, there's sometimes a delay in receiving refunds that she will need to cover her off-campus housing. Additionally, this summer she was unable to work and save due to responsibilities at home. All the money raised from this GoFundMe will help her get all the supplies she needs as she starts her first semester in college, including dorm/living supplies, books, and the start-up funds for housing.

A rough budget for the use of these funds:

$500 for books and supplies

$500 for living supplies

$1000 off-campus housing/deposits
