Help Nino Fight Cancer: Urgent Surgery Needed

Hello, my name is Maria, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I’ve never asked for help like this, especially from strangers—but right now, I’m desperate. My beloved cat Nino has cancer, and he urgently needs surgery to have a chance at surviving.

Nino has been with me since he was a kitten—born in October 2013. He’s more than a pet; he’s my baby, my family, and my source of comfort. Losing him is not something I can even imagine. I recently lost my senior cat Tony to cancer as well. He lived a full 18 years, and his passing broke my heart. I didn’t know he was sick until it was too late. I haven’t even had time to fully grieve Tony, because now I’m fighting for Nino’s life.

Nino has a mass in his stomach, and while the tests haven’t given a definite answer, his doctor—Dr. Lisa Moore at the Cancer Care Clinic in Orlando, FL—believes surgery is the next step. She said the surgery to remove most of the mass and get a biopsy will cost between $5,000 and $6,000. I simply don’t have that kind of money.

I applied for CareCredit and used what I could, but it’s already maxed out and I’m struggling to pay it off. Right now, Nino is on steroids to keep him comfortable, but it’s only slowing things down—it’s not a cure. His beautiful coat has become dull and shabby, and he just isn’t himself.

I’m doing everything I can. My boyfriend is covering our household bills while I try to handle the vet costs, special food, and medications. I feel like I’m drowning, and I’m terrified of losing Nino too. When I first learned about his diagnosis, Nino even ran away. He was missing for two days, and I searched non-stop until I finally found him. I truly believe he was scared and in pain.
