Help Ninja Get Life-Changing Eye Surgery
Donation protected
This is Ninja. I was fostering Ninja in February and ended up adopting him at the end of March. We think he's around 7. He was rescued off the streets. He's had rotting teeth and had multiple removed. He's been having eye issues since before I brought him into my apartment. I've stayed on top of everything. He's on his 2nd eye ulcer since mid-March. We thought maybe he was scratching it, so he had to have a cone. When everything healed and the cone was removed, he started licking bald spots due to stress. After some steroids and some shirts as preventive measures, he was fine. Then the 2nd ulcer was confirmed on June 16th. Now he's seeing a specialist and it turns out his eyelids roll inwards and rub his corneas, thus creating the ulcers. After some meds, the vet recommends surgery to correct the issue and hopefully prevent the ulcers. I have taken him to the vet so many times and have gotten so many meds in this little window of having him. I love my Ninja; he's complemented my life and brought joy. But I need some help. All these expenses in a short time have taken a toll. I do have CareCredit, but I am still paying off my last cat's end-of-life bills and the interest is almost an additional $20 a month. I have some space on it but not too much. I'm trying to sell a couple of things around my apartment. I've also just filed for divorce, so this is all hitting at an unfortunate time. The vet gave me the estimate of $1200, though I don't have a sheet with it written. My paperwork from today makes note that we scheduled the surgery on the 8th of July. If you feel more comfortable donating there, that is perfectly fine; I'm just not sure if they'll add it to Ninja's account in advance, but I could be wrong. I'm trying to do whatever I can to help afford this. Thank you for your time.
