I went to Cancún, Mexico for my birthday with friends, but my trip turned into a life-changing accident. I fell from a bridge and suffered severe fractures to my spine and neck. The park did not have proper emergency equipment, and I had to be carried for nearly 30 minutes before waiting for an ambulance that never arrived. Eventually, I was transported by truck nearly an hour to a hospital. I did not have travel insurance, and the local insurance policy of the park did not cover my emergency surgery. My friends and family came together immediately to save my life, maxing out credit cards, lending money, and helping cover the cost of my surgery and hospitalization which tool a lot longer since it was a weekend . I underwent emergency spine surgery 28 hours after the accident. It was the most painful and terrifying experience of my life, but thankfully the doctors were able to save my lower back, and I can move my legs now. With proper treatment, physical therapy, and aftercare, I hope to walk normally again. I am incredibly grateful to be alive and forever thankful to every person who helped me survive during those terrifying moments. Unfortunately, my recovery is far from over. I still have untreated fractures in my neck, ongoing medical expenses, physical therapy, follow-up appointments, medications, and a long healing journey ahead. At this time, I am unable to walk normally or return to work. I have never been comfortable asking for help, but after everything that has happened, I truly cannot get through this alone im stuck in Mexico hoping to feel better enough to get on a plane . Any donation will help me continue my medical care, support my recovery, and pay back the friends and family who sacrificed so much to help save my life. Even sharing my story means more than I can express. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, supporting, and helping me through the hardest chapter of my life. Wish me happy birthday:)
Recovery Update (6½ Weeks Later) I’m finally back home and making progress. I’m incredibly grateful to say I can walk again, which is something I wasn’t sure would be possible after my accident. I’m still recovering from the fractures in my neck, so I’m wearing my neck brace 24/7 and haven’t been cleared to start physical therapy for my back yet. There’s still a long road ahead with follow-up appointments, rehab, and getting strong enough to return to work, but I’m taking it one day at a time. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my story, or reached out. Your kindness has made this journey so much easier, and I’ll never be able to thank you enough.❤️❤️
