Help Nina raise money for Pediatric Cancer

As some people know April 1, of this year, our daughter, Nina, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Cancer (Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Diffuse large B-Cell) at the age of 13. As with any family faced with this news, we were devastated, filled with questions and scared for what was on the horizon.

It has been beyond heartbreaking to watch our beautiful, smart, caring daughter lose her sparkle through endless tests, six rounds of chemotherapy and its aftermath, and countless weeks in the hospital. But, through it all, we have kept our faith, and we know something amazing will come of this for Nina and our family.

Today, we are very grateful that Nina has no active cancer in her body and is coming out on the other side of her treatments. While challenges continue as she builds back her immunity, she's getting stronger every day, and the smile that we all know and love is returning to her face. She is planning to be back at school October 1 and cheer for basketball season this winter.

Today Nina got to ring the bell, which means the end of her chemotherapy treatment. She has kept a perspective well beyond her years throughout her fight, always thinking of the other children, their families and their personal battles. Now, during this next part of her journey, Nina wants to give back to those battling cancer and the organizations helping them as well as the researchers and doctors working tirelessly to find cures.

Many people asked how they could help Nina during this time and our ask was simply prayer. Now that we are through this, we encourage you to join Nina and our family in donating to several cancer non-profits close to our heart, including NCCS, Alex's Lemonade Stand, Pinky Swear and NC4K in which Nina will participate in a Fashion Show in 30 days to support the message that no child should fight Cancer ALONE.
