Hi, my name is Nina. I’m a Mexican transgender woman, and I’ve been transitioning since 2016. I am creating this fundraiser to help me access gender-affirming surgery and continue becoming more fully myself.
My transition has been one of the most meaningful and life-changing journeys of my life. Over the years, I have learned to embrace my femininity, accept myself, and live more honestly as the woman I know I am. Every step I’ve taken has brought me closer to peace, confidence, and self-love.
I recently moved to the United States, and for the first time, I feel like I have more opportunities to continue moving forward in my transition. In Mexico, access to support and resources for transgender people can be limited, especially when it comes to gender-affirming care. Being here has given me hope that I can keep building the life I have fought so hard for.
Gender-affirming surgery is not cosmetic for me — it is a deeply personal and important step toward feeling more comfortable, more confident, and more aligned with who I truly am. After all these years, I want to take my transition to the next level and feel even more like myself.
Unfortunately, these surgeries are extremely expensive and far beyond what I can afford on my own right now. I am doing everything I can to make this possible, including fundraising, applying for programs that support transgender people, and selling handmade knitted sweaters and other knitted pieces to save money little by little. Creating with my hands has become one of the ways I support myself and keep moving toward this goal.
If you would like to support me in another way, you can also follow my work on Instagram, where I share and sell my handmade knitwear. Whether through a donation, a purchase, or simply sharing my story, every bit of support means more to me than I can express.
Thank you for reading my story, for seeing me, and for helping me move closer to a future where I can feel more fully at home in myself.
With love,
Nina
